Dr. Matt Gialanella

Dr. Matt Gialanella grew up in Toms River, New Jersey. In 2000, Matt graduated from Toms River High School North and attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. At Wake, Matt was president of his fraternity, a director of the Volunteer Service Corps, and an active member of the pre-dental society. He graduated in 2004 with a major in communications and pre-dental studies.

Dr. Gialanella is a 2009 graduate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey—New Jersey Dental School in Newark, NJ. During his time at UMDNJ, he was President of his dental class for 2 years as well as President of New Jersey Dental School Student Government Association.

After graduating from UMDNJ, Dr. Gialanella was accepted into a General Practice Residency at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. During this one-year residency program, Dr. Gialanella received extensive training in oral surgery, fixed prosthodonitics, removable prosthodontics, and operative dentistry.

Dr. Gialanella is new to the area, and is enjoying exploring the DC/Virginia area. He lives in Washington, DC with his wife, Anne. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, traveling, and has recently started training for a triathlon. He is excited to join Dr. Dudley and the rest of the Virginia Dental Center.


Dr. Cara Schantz

Dr. Cara Schantz

Dr. Cara Schantz is a native of Northern Virginia. Born and raised in McLean, she earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, and then went on to complete her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. After dental school, she chose to do a 1 year residency in general dentistry in New York City. Dr. Schantz is certified in Invisalign, the nearly-invisible braces, and has completed coursework at the Dawson Institute in St. Petersburg, FL.

She has participated in numerous Mission of Mercy projects that provide dental services to underserved areas in Virginia, in addition to volunteering abroad in Jamaica, Honduras and Belize. Dr. Schantz has been trained in conscious sedation and has extensive experience performing this procedure with children. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at a local nursing home with her dog, Jacob, traveling and exploring D.C.


Dr. Brian Schobel

Dr. Brian Schobel

Brian Schobel grew up in Massachusetts and attended the University of Rochester in New York where he earned his degree in Biology. After graduating he worked in oral microbiology research for two years before attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

He completed an advanced training residency in General Dentistry at Abington Memorial Hospital where he expanded his knowledge and skill in all fields of general dentistry including cosmetic cases, extractions, crowns, bridges, and implants. Dr. Schobel loves his work and really enjoys building relationships with his patients. He believes that communication and comfort are essential, and really treats all his patients like family.

Dr. Schobel's wife Hannah is a DC native. They are currently living in Arlington. He's an avid baseball fan and enjoys golf, running, and just about anything that gets him outdoors.


Anne Weih, MHA: Office Manager

Anne Weih Clinical Administrator

Anne is our Office Manager. Her experience includes a total of 8 years in the dental field.

Anne graduated from George Mason University with her B.S. in BioChemistry in 2009 and her Masters in Health Administration and Policy in 2011. In her time apart from work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her friends, family and two dogs.

Liza Blackwell Scheduling Coordinator

When you call, this is the face connected to the bright and cheery voice you hear! Liza is our Scheduling Coordinator. She has been with Dr. Dudley since July 2006.

Liza grew up in Pamona, California for 12 years before returning to Maryland where she currently resides. She has over 18 years of experience in the dental field in the capacity of a dental assistant, receptionist and office manager. In her spare time, she enjoys decorating houses and traveling with family and friends.

Alicia Dawson Billing and Insurance Coordinator

Alicia is our billing and insurance coordinator. Originally a dental assistant, she has been in the dental field since 2001.

Alicia was born and raised in Maryland where she lives with her 3 children. In her spare time she stays busy with the kids, enjoys sports and traveling.


Sabrina K. Seldal, RDH

Sabrina K. Seldal, R.D.H

Sabrina has been practicing dentistry for nine years and has been a registered dental hygienist since 2004. She has worn many hats with bone and tooth specialty (perio-dentistry), local anesthesia, nitros-inhalation, adult care, and pediatrics. In her role in dentistry, Sabrina does more than clean teeth. She opened three successful private dental practices and has delivered quality service to thousands of patients.

Sabrina earned her degree from University of Minnesota-Duluth and her BS in Dental Hygiene from UNC-Chapel Hill. In college, she served multiple leadership roles in the Student American Dental Hygiene Association. She is currently a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and is actively licensed in Minnesota, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Throughout her career, Sabrina has been active in teaching/volunteering in local community health clinics and elementary schools, and participated in outreach activities, such as Operation "Give Kids a Smile". Sabrina also travels annually to Granada, Nicaragua on mission trips providing dental care in the local community clinics and orphanages serving more than 400 people per visit. When she is not in the dental chair, Sabrina enjoys hiking, biking, running, and golfing.


Megan Cretz, RDH

Megan Cretz RDH

Megan has been practicing dentistry since graduation in 2006 and has been a registered dental hygienist since then. As a hygienist, she enjoys getting to know her patients and providing them with the best care possible.

Megan graduated from the University of Michigan in 2006 with her bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene. In college, she was involved in multiple student organizations including the Student American Dental Hygiene Association. Also, she was a research assistant at the University of Michigan Dental School, allowing her to learn about other aspects of the dental field.

Megan is relatively new to the practice, and enjoys working with people who care so deeply about their patients and the care they receive. Outside of the office, Megan enjoys yoga, reading and has recently taken up running.


Savanna Burton, RDH

Savanna Burton, RDH

Savanna has been working in the dental field since 2006. She graduated from Weber State University in Ogden, UT with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2010 and has been practicing dental hygiene since then. In college, Savanna was involved in many organizations, including acting as president of the Weber State Chapter of the American Dental Hygienists Association. She has also participated in numerous dental outreach programs including Give Kids A Smile, Sealants for Smiles, Women's and Children's Health Connections, and the OPNMI dental clinic in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Savanna is a native of Utah and is licensed as a dental hygienist in Utah and Virginia. She is excited to join the dental team at Virginia Dental Center. Aside from dentistry, Savanna enjoys running, traveling, waterskiing, and snowskiing in Utah and Idaho.

Erika Hanson Dental Assistant

Erika C. Hanson was born in Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil. She obtained her DDS degree in 1993 from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas (PUCCAMP) and has been working in the field of Dentistry ever since.

Recently, Erika relocated to the USA with her husband and twin daughters. She has joined Dr. Dudley and team at Virginia Dental Center and is happy to have found a wonderful group of professionals who are committed to patient's well being and demonstrate superior dental care


Jim Greenamyer: Dental Assistant

Jim Greenamyer Dental Assistant

Jim was trained at the San Diego Naval School of Dental Assisting and Technology, in San Diego, California, from which he was certified in 1979. He has been working in the dental field ever since.

Jim met and began working with Dr. Dudley in 2007, in Washington, D.C., and is happy to be working with him again here in Arlington.

Jim has pets, a dog named Casey, who is 11 years old, and a Yellow headed Amazon parrot named Sweetie, who is six years old. He also has a pair of cockatiels, Marco and Pooh, who are about two years old now.

Jim lives in South Arlington, and enjoys the short commute!


Cathy Robins: Dental Assistant

Cathy recently relocated from Atlanta, Georgia to the DC area to be closer to her daughter; one of her 3 children. She received her B.S. in Marketing from Kennesaw College. She then continued her education at Medix and became a certified Dental Assistant.

In her spare time, Cathy loves to play tennis and spend time with her family.

Alicia is a native Washintonian. She became a certified dental assistant in 2003.

In her spare time she enjoys reading and volunteering in her community.
